The South African Society of Anaesthesiologists
(SASA) is dedicated to the furtherance of the discipline
of anaesthesia at both an academic and a clinical
level and is devoted to the welfare of its members.
SASA provides members with many services including
free access to the official Journal of the society
- South African Journal of Anaesthesia and Analgesia
- numerous CPD activities, support and advice from
experts, the production of practice guidelines and
negotiation with funders regarding the reimbursement
for anaesthesia services. The society is active
in providing members with guidance and assistance
over issues such as ethical billing practice, generic
substitution and informed consent for anaesthesia.
Through its local branch meetings and national conferences,
the society endeavours to maintain a high standard
of academic awareness amongst its members. The highlight
of the society's activities is the hosting of the
World Cup congress of Anaesthesiologists in Cape
Town 2008. Thank you for visiting our website. We
hope you have found it useful and informative and,
if you are an anaesthesiologist but not yet a member,
that you will take this opportunity to join the
society that puts your needs first.
