 Cholera Epidemic
Medical volunteers are urgently required to assist the Health Department in treating Cholera victims in Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

The SAPPF has asked by the Private Sector Task Group to co-ordinate a medical roster of volunteer doctors able to assist in treating victims of the epidemic. The commitment will be for a maximum of one week and the SAPPF will arrange transport to and from the region and accommodation at no cost to the volunteers. All we are asking is that you give us a week of your valuable time.

This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the willingness of private sector doctors to assist the country in times of need. If you are able to assist please send your contact details and when you would be available to me Dr Chris Archer at: chrisarcher@wol.co.za or phone the Cholera Desk on 011 4780156. The Centre for disease Control officials who are directing operations on the ground anticipate the epidemic to peak in about 6 weeks but there may be sporadic outbreaks for the next 5 to 6 months.

We are currently seeking about 30 to 50 volunteers and if you are able or willing to assist please let us know urgently.

Thank you for your support
